Approval
The approval of plants is carried out by competent authority of Portugal, Veterinary General Directorate (DGV), after verifying compliance with the requirements laid down in Regulation (EC) n.º 1069/2009, of 21 October.
The approval is the recognition of the sanitary conditions established by community and national rules. Establishments handling by- products of animal origin cannot operate unless DGV has approved them.
The approval number is called “Número de Controlo Veterinário - NCV”.
