Animals are checked in places called Travellers’ Points of Entry (e.g. Airports). For this purpose it is compulsory to contact those, made by the owner/authorized person on behalf of the owner and not by the air company, AS SOON AS POSSIBLE (at least 48 hours before the arrival), in order to avoid any inconvenient, namely the prohibition of the entry of the animals due to non-compliance with the health rules laid down - See form for this purpose and the contacts of the Travellers’ Points of Entry
PENALTIES ARE FORESEEN FOR TRAVELLERS WHOSE ANIMALS FAIL TO MEET ONE OR MORE OF THE REQUIREMENTS PROVIDED FOR IN THE LEGISLATION IN FORCE.
Are due the following Payments by Veterinary Expert Examination that is carried out at Travellers’ Points of Entry when the check of the animals: one animal 40,00 € two or more animals 80,00 €
PET ANIMALS HERE MENTIONED ARE THOSE TRAVELLING WITH YOU UP TO A NUMBER OF 5 AND NOT INTENDED FOR SALE OR TRANSFERRED TO ANOTHER OWNER.
Failure to comply with these rules, impose in the first place the return of the animal to the origin. As a last resort, to put the animal down is an option. All expenses arising from these situations are charged to the keeper of the animal.
