Imports of food supplements - VITAMINS AND MINERALS

When the food supplement contains vitamins or minerals as ingredients, the operator shall check whether those nutrients are listed in Annex II to Regulation (EC) No. 1170/2009 and Directive 2002/46/EC and whether they are present in the food supplement in the authorized forms.

The operator shall also ensure that these nutrients are found in food supplements in safe doses (by referring to  the document “Tolerable Upper Intake Levels for Vitamins and Minerals")

When the vitamins and/or minerals in the supplement are not listed in the decrees listed in the preceding paragraph, or are listed but in different forms, the supplement may not enter the Community.
