DOGS BREEDS WITHOUT COMMERCIAL PURPOSE CONSIDERED DANGEROUS OR POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS



The entry into Portugal of dogs without commercial purpose, from countries outside the European Union, of the following breeds considered dangerous or potentially dangerous and their crosses:

I) Fila brasileiro.
II) Dogue argentino.
III) Pit bull terrier.
IV) Rottweiller.
V) American Staffordshire terrier.
VI) Staffordshire bull terrier.
VII) Tosa inu


Is allowed, however at Traveller's Points of Entry for veterinary checks of the animals concerned, it is signed by the owners one of the following documents:

. STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITY - Stay in Portugal for a period less than 4 months.


. NOTIFICATION - Stay in Portugal for more than 4 months.

Are only exception the above dogs breeds registered in a stud book officially recognized (LOP and others), and in this case the holders of these animals must provide evidence (written proof) at the traveller's points of entry.
